Base on-above, we have been sought solutions making most less-human mistakes. Our answer was the GAS (Gate Assort System) which prevents mistakes during assorting operation. GAS is a system which has a cover on the slot and the cover is opened only when assorting order is instructed. Operator don’t need to think where he/she needs to insert item, but just insert item where cover is open. This is a revolutionary machine that does not generate any mistake in assorting goods.

Proficiency unnecessary

GAS sets up the cover (gate) which is opened to insert the goods. After scanning product barcode., the corresponding cover (gate) opens and voice notification function will show how many items operator needs to insert. Inserting process is finished when the cover (gate) is closed while the operator presses the finishing switch.

In case that one person is in charge of 1unit (6 rows ×3 stages×36 gates), he/she can assort 1000〜1200 items/hour. In the case of cart picking, it is only about 450〜500items/hour. Since the walking distance is reduced, Gas’ productivity increases twice as much as compared with cart picking.

It is difficult to achieve ROI (return on investment) in the short term with heavy sorter implementation due installation cost is expensive and fixed space/fixed equipment setting required. Productivity and maintainability are not good with heavily inspecting. DPS (Digital Picking System) induces mistakes to insert item in the next slot (left or right or above or below slots). Because DPS is designed as operator can insert item anywhere he/she wants. We call it “the logic of OK”. The GAS is a revolutionary system which excludes human errors. Because the item barcode is scanned one by one and inserted in the slot where the cover is open, inspecting in packaging process is not necessary.
